The overall architecture features the style and characteristics of the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods, primarily consisting of cultural and commercial buildings, along with government offices, educational institutions, ancestral halls, water societies, financial institutions, and traditional residential buildings. This street was once home to renowned old establishments such as the First Building, Wanbaotang, Lerentang, Zhonghua Book Company, Daoxiangcun, and Huaimao Sauce Garden. It is hailed as the "First Street of Zhili" and the "Famous Street of the North," serving as a symbol and representation of the historic cultural city of Baoding.
